Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the new head coach of the men’s team, ushering in a fresh chapter at Stamford Bridge.

Rosenior, a former Premier League and Championship defender, arrives with a rapidly rising reputation in management. After transitioning into coaching, he earned plaudits for his tactical intelligence, man-management skills, and commitment to developing young players through roles in youth development and first-team coaching.
The Blues say they are confident the former RC Strasbourg boss will inject renewed energy, modern ideas, and strong leadership into the squad as the club targets sustained success at home and in Europe.
In an official statement, Chelsea said:
“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team. The club extends a warm welcome to Rosenior and looks forward to his leadership on and off the pitch. Welcome to Chelsea, Liam!”
Rosenior joins Chelsea following an impressive spell in France, where he guided Strasbourg to European qualification for the first time in 19 years during his debut season. His coaching journey also includes stints with Hull City and Derby County in England.
Reacting to his appointment, the 41-year-old described the role as the pinnacle of his career.

“I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies,” he said.
Rosenior has signed a long-term contract with the Blues, running until 2032, underlining the club’s faith in his vision.
“My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies. To be entrusted with this role means the world to me,” he added.
“I believe deeply in teamwork, unity and togetherness, and those values will be at the heart of everything we do.”
The new head coach expressed excitement about working with Chelsea’s players and staff, stressing the importance of building strong relationships and a shared hunger for success.
“There is a real desire to win here, and I will give everything, every single day, to help this team compete at the very highest level.”
Rosenior also paid tribute to Chelsea supporters, calling them “the soul” of the club.
“I want our fans to be proud of who we are and what we represent in every game. I cannot wait to meet you all and get started.”
Chelsea added that Rosenior has consistently demonstrated his ability to build teams with a clear playing identity while maintaining the highest standards on and off the pitch. While player development remains central to the club’s philosophy, Chelsea stressed that expectations remain firmly set on challenging for major honours.
“Liam has the ability to get the best out of this squad quickly and joins us with the responsibility and backing to ensure Chelsea continues to compete at the top level in all competitions this season and beyond,” the club concluded.
