- Candidates eligible for 78 Regular Course admission into the Nigerian Defence
Academy (NDA) must have the following:
a. Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.
b. Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child
or other individuals.
c. Present a Certificate of Indigeneship from the state government or local
government area.
d. Be at least 17 years old and NOT more than 21 years old as of August 2026
(the year of entry into the Academy).
e. Must have a minimum of 5 ordinary level credits at GCE, SSCE (WAEC,
NECO, NBAIS and NABTEB) English language, Mathematics and three other
subjects which are relevant to the intended programme at not more than 2 sittings.
f. Must have passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation examinations (UTME)
and attained an acceptable minimum national standard (as determined by JAMB
annual policy meeting).
g. Must NOT be less than 1.68 metres tall for males and 1.65 metres for
females.
h. Knowledge of French, Arabic or Madarin language is an added advantage.
2. Candidates are to note the following:
a. Application forms submitted without ordinary level results will NOT be
accepted.
b. Candidates awaiting results are not qualified.
c. Only ordinary level examination results of NOT more than 5 years old from
the date of examination will be accepted.
d. Subjects to be written for the Nigerian Defence Academy Screening Test are
to be selected as highlighted under the “Subject Combination for Nigerian Defence
Academy Screening Test” heading.
e. Admission into the Academy is for both male and female Nigerians only.
SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY SCREENING TEST
Candidates for Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Candidates for Arts & Social
Sciences are to answer the questions in Use of English and all questions in any 3 of
the following subjects that are applicable to the candidate’s chosen course:
- Mathematics – (Compulsory for Psychology candidates).
- Economics.
- Geography.
- History.
- Government.
- French.
- Biology – (Compulsory for Psychology candidates).
- Arabic.
Candidates for Faculty of Science. Candidates for Science are to answer the
questions in Use of English and 3 other subjects according to chosen course as follows:
- Mathematics – (Mathematics and any 2 of Physics, Chemistry and Economics).
- Physics (Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology).
- Chemistry (Chemistry and any 2 of Physics, Biology or Mathematics).
- Biology (Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics).
- Biotechnology (Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics).
Candidates for Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Candidates for
Engineering are to answer the questions in Use of English and 3 other subjects
according to chosen course in the following subjects:
- Mathematics.
- Physics.
- Chemistry.
Candidates for Faculty of Management Science. Candidates for Management
Science are to answer questions in Use of English and 3 other subjects according to
chosen course as follows:
- Economics (Economics and any 2 of Government, Mathematics, Geography).
- Accounting (Mathematics and any 2 of Geography, Government, Economics or
History). - Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Economics, Mathematics and any of
Geography, Government, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Economics or History). - Management Sciences (Mathematics, Economics and any of Geography,
Government or History).
Candidates for Faculty of Military Science and Inter-Disciplinary Studies.
Candidates for Military Science and Inter-Disciplinary Studies Candidates are to answer
questions in Use of English and 3 other subjects according to chosen course as follows:
- Computer Science (Mathematics, Physics and ONE of Biology, Chemistry,
Economics or Geography). - Cyber Security (Mathematics, Physics and ONE of Biology, Chemistry, Economics
or Geography). - Intelligence and Security Science (Government and any 2 of Economics, Geography
and History). - Military Science (Mathematics, Physics and ONE of Chemistry, Biology or
Geography).
