MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB), a fintech subsidiary of MTN Nigeria, operates under a license issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with a strong focus on promoting financial inclusion nationwide. After receiving final approval from the CBN, MoMo PSB officially commenced operations on May 17, 2022. Programme Overview
The MoMo TechSpark Graduate Programme is a comprehensive 12-month training initiative designed for ambitious, creative, and forward-thinking graduates. It offers participants the opportunity to develop technical skills, think innovatively, and contribute to shaping the digital financial landscape relied upon by millions. Outstanding participants who successfully complete the programme may be offered full-time employment.
Key Features and Responsibilities
- Onboarding Programme: Introduction to the company’s operations, culture, and digital strategy.
- Technical Training: Intensive learning in areas such as Cloud Computing, Data & AI, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and IT Infrastructure.
- Rotational Experience: Exposure to multiple technical and business units to build a well-rounded skill set.
- Project Work: Active participation in real-world projects that deliver measurable business impact.
- Mentorship: Guidance and support from experienced engineers and organizational leaders.
- Certification Support: Access to professional learning platforms and certification opportunities.
- Performance Reviews: Quarterly assessments to monitor progress and support development planning.
Participants will also be expected to:
- Comply with MoMo PSB policies, including confidentiality, data security, and ethical standards.
- Engage actively in training and professional development to strengthen technical and digital competencies.
- Support teams with coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and basic system analysis tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology-driven initiatives, including process improvement and solution development.
- Contribute to meetings, project reviews, and presentations by preparing technical updates and reports.
- Take part in departmental activities and knowledge-sharing sessions while assisting with IT operations where necessary.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Physics, or any related STEM discipline.
- Must have completed the NYSC programme or be nearing completion.
Experience:
- 0 to 2 years of post-NYSC work experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL).
- Understanding of software development processes, APIs, testing, debugging, and version control systems such as Git.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Foundational knowledge of databases, cloud technologies, and IT systems.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- High level of attention to detail, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
- A user-focused mindset with an understanding of how technology supports business goals.
