The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has outlined the step-by-step registration procedure for newly admitted students. All candidates are advised to carefully follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth registration process.

1. Check Admission Status
- Visit the official FUTO website: www.futo.edu.ng
- Click on “Prospective Students”
- Select “Check Admission Status”
- Click “Check 2025/2026 Undergraduate Admission Status”
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number and submit to view your admission status
- Once admission is confirmed, click “Continue with Admission Registration”
- Update your O’Level details, including examination year, examination number, results, and scratch card PIN
2. Portal Account Verification
- On the FUTO homepage, click “Portal”
- Select “Verify Your Account” to generate login details
- Your JAMB Registration Number will serve as the default username and password
- Log in and immediately change your password for security purposes
3. Payment of Acceptance Fee
- Log in to the portal at portal.futo.edu.ng
- Click “Pay Acceptance Fee” to generate a payment invoice
- Print the invoice and proceed to any bank to pay using the RRR code
- Alternatively, pay online using Verve, Visa, or MasterCard
- After successful payment, print your FUTO Admission Letter and Confirmation of Admission Form
4. Payment of School Fees
- Log in to the portal with your username and password
- Click “Pay Fees” to generate a payment invoice
- Print the invoice and pay at any bank or online using approved debit/credit cards
- After payment, return to the portal to print your School Fees e-Receipt (with RRR code)
- The portal will automatically assign your Matriculation Number
5. Profile Completion
- Click “Fill Profile Details”
- Enter all required information accurately, including your entry level and year of admission
- Submit the form and print the Profile Information Slip
- Complete and print the Validity Form and Acceptance Letter
6. Confirmation of Admission and Collection of Green File
Venue: SOSC Extension Building, near the Old SEET Roundabout
The University Admissions Office (UAO) will verify candidates’ results and credentials to authenticate admission or reassign candidates where necessary.
Documents Required:
- FUTO PUTME Result Slip
- O’Level Statement of Results
- Confirmation of Admission Form
- JAMB and FUTO Admission Letters
- School Fees Receipt
- Printed Profile Slip, Validity Form (with passport photograph), and signed Acceptance Letter
- Birth Certificate
- Local Government Area (LGA) Identification Letter
- Direct Entry candidates must present relevant credentials (A-Level, OND, HND, or Degree statements of results)
7. Completion and Submission of Green File
- Complete all forms in the green file
- Submit the completed file to your department for further processing
8. Other Mandatory Clearances
- Register at the University Health Services
- Complete registration at the University Library
Note: Completion of Health Services and Library registration is mandatory for the issuance of the e-ID card.
9. Important Notices
- Direct Entry students must ensure their former institutions forward their academic transcripts to:
The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, P.M.B. 1526 - After matriculation, students must report to the Admissions Unit to sign the Matricula within one week
- The signed Matricula will be required for the issuance of the e-ID card
- Registration for freshmen admitted under the merit list runs from Monday, December 11 to Friday, December 22, 2017
10. Hostel Allocation Procedure
- Log in to the portal and click “Hostel Allocation”
- Select “Generate Hostel Reservation”
- Enter the required details and choose a hostel type
- Generate the hostel payment invoice
- Pay at FUTO Microfinance Bank (MFB)
- Return to the portal with the e-PIN issued by the bank
- Print the hostel reservation receipt showing your allocated room
- Proceed to the Student Affairs Unit for further clearance
11. Online Course Registration
- Click the Course Registration menu
- Select the session and semester
- Choose your courses and submit
- Print the registered course form
12. Online Result Checking
- Click the Result menu
- Select the session and semester
- View and print your semester result slip
13. Access and Support
Payment of school fees is compulsory and grants students access to:
- Automatic issuance of Matriculation Number
- Online course registration
- Semester examinations
- Campus Wi-Fi
