The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially opened registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The exercise is open to candidates within Nigeria and those in foreign countries who wish to sit for the examination.

Registration must be done strictly at JAMB-accredited CBT registration centres nationwide. Prospective candidates are advised to first purchase the official JAMB e-PIN before proceeding to any accredited centre.
Registration closes on Saturday, 28th February, 2026 — no extension should be expected, so early registration is strongly advised.
OFFICIAL UTME NOVEL FOR 2026
JAMB has announced “The Lekki Headmaster” by Kabir Alabi Garba as the official novel for the 2026 UTME Use of English.
Every registered UTME candidate is entitled to a FREE copy of the novel after completing registration at an accredited CBT centre.
Do NOT pay for the novel under any circumstances. If it is not given to you, ask for it.
COMPULSORY DISCLOSURE OF PREVIOUS ADMISSION STATUS
In a major update, JAMB now mandates all candidates to declare any previous admission or matriculation history during registration.
Candidates must clearly indicate:
- Previous UTME or Direct Entry (DE) registration
- The year of such registration or admission
Failure to disclose, or making false declarations, will automatically invalidate the current registration and/or previous admission.
Candidates who were previously admitted (matriculated) but wish to change institution, programme, or start afresh are allowed to do so — provided full disclosure is made.
Non-disclosure is now considered an offence.
COMPLETING YOUR REGISTRATION CORRECTLY
To avoid issues, candidates are strongly advised to:
- Ensure the JAMB registration template is completely and accurately filled
- Carefully study the JAMB brochure before selecting courses and subject combinations
Accuracy is key — wrong information can cost you admission.
FINAL VERIFICATION & BIOMETRIC CONFIRMATION
Before completing your registration:
Verify that all your details have been correctly uploaded into the JAMB registration portal
Print your Registration Confirmation Slip only after biometric authentication
Fingerprint authentication is compulsory for printing the confirmation slip and serves as final confirmation of your data.
Once you confirm with your fingerprint, responsibility for any error rests with the candidate, not the CBT centre.
Check everything carefully before fingerprint confirmation.
