The Karamchi Online Journalists Forum has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remove Barrister Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over what it described as an ongoing political rift involving Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the group accused Wike of showing disrespect and attempting to intimidate Governor Fubara, whom it identified as a full-fledged member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on behalf of the forum, its National Chairman, Sani Ahmad Zangina, described Wike’s actions as “unfair, provocative and unbecoming,” particularly given that Wike is not a member of the APC, while Fubara is a sitting governor under the party’s platform.
Zangina said it was inappropriate for a non-APC member to publicly ridicule or undermine a governor of the ruling party, warning that such conduct could threaten party cohesion and national unity. He stressed that, at the very least, Wike should be compelled to show due respect to the Rivers governor, or be relieved of his ministerial position altogether.
The forum also faulted Wike’s recent comments suggesting that Governor Fubara may not be guaranteed an automatic ticket in the 2027 elections, describing the remarks as unnecessary and inflammatory.
According to the group, the presidency “cannot afford to sacrifice a biological son for an adopted one,” insisting that Fubara should be allowed to carry out his constitutional duties without harassment, intimidation or political pressure.
Labeling Wike as an opposition figure, the forum urged him to refrain from what it called insults, coercion and actions capable of destabilising governance in Rivers State.
“In the interest of protecting democracy, preserving party unity, and maintaining peace and national cohesion, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must immediately put an end to all actions that undermine democratic governance or relieve Barrister Nyesom Wike of his position without delay,” the statement concluded.
